Financial Aid Information for 2023/2024 School Year
THA Lions Parents:
I wanted to bring you up to date on all the back-end changes for our upcoming school year. First and foremost, we are upgrading systems for our parents, students, faculty, and staff by moving off several platforms on to one single platform… Blackbaud. Blackbaud will be the place you can see your child’s grades and schedule, see calendar events, pay your tuition, and apply for financial aid. We are combining five different software programs into ONE singular source for you in efforts to streamline and move us into a much better digital experience. We are well on our way in the conversion process, and we will be fully live in all aspects before next school year. There are some active areas now that you will want to take advantage of:
1. Financial Aid Management Portal: This link is live and you can now start your application process for financial aid through JETCO awards. This process will replace the FAST application, and is seamless on the back end of the software to have the awards applied to your Tuition Management Account. The link to apply is https://studentfinancialaid.blackbaud.school/#!/login
2. Financial Aid Awards: We will begin reviewing applications on May 15, 2023 for JETCO scholarship awards for 2023/2024. The funds will be distributed in a slightly different manner this year, as we have created an “Anticipated Award Amount” that is broken down into four income categories. Each application will be looked at, but this will be a good guide as to what type of award could be expected. (See back for Income/Award breakdown). Again, each application will be reviewed and if there is a circumstance that the Tuition Assistance Committee should be made aware of, please write it out in your application and it will be considered.
3. Financial Aid must be applied for and verified by Blackbaud by July 15th of 2023 for consideration in the 2023/2024 School Year. Only exception is New Student Enrollees into THA and those are handled on a case by case basis.
4. There are multiple options for each family to investigate alternative groups for scholarships. Several Scholarship Tuition Organization (STO’s) have partnered with THA and we can help you secure funds from them. Please schedule a time to speak with Stephanie Tillich or Jay Huffstutler to discuss further. There is also the State of Arizona Empowerment Scholarship Amount (ESA) that can provide you up to $7000 towards your tuition amount here at THA. (See OUR website for all of our partner entities.) *** IMPORTANT NOTE! YOU CAN NOT RECEIVE SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS FROM AN STO AND AN ESA SCHOLARSHIP IN THE SAME SCHOOL YEAR.
5. There will be a JETCO award budget limit this year for total scholarships to THA. What this means to you is that if you are planning on applying, it would be better to do it earlier than later. Once the total planned disbursement for awards are distributed, the award round will close for the year.
